April 6, 2018. NASHVILLE, TN –
One of the longest running and most prestigious film festivals in the US, The Nashville Film Festival, has named Pete Simon – Agent of God one of three finalists in the Tennessee screenplay category.
Getting to the finals of both Christian and non-Christian festivals validates that an all-out comedy script can have a solidly pro-Jesus message needed to gain support of the church community.
“In America today with so many priorities pulling people in different directions, it is important to find new ways to get across the story of Jesus” says Emoff. “Oh God, Evan Almighty and Bruce Almighty were box-office successes, proving there is profit in faith comedies. However, I believe Christian audiences like to experience conversion and redemption in their religious comedies. Pete Simon is flawed character we can laugh at and cry with alike”.
